Michael Jackson

While on the treadmill today at the "Y", I saw that 90% of the news casts were focused on Michael Jackson. Really amazing how much of a publicity machine this is.

Crazy to think that already all 10 albums on iTunes biggest sellers are MJ albums:


Michael Jackson was a lot of things...

cute and talented little boy...
creepy and sad older man.

once black...
then very white (probably whiter than me!).

but, he will be remembered for the music. It reminds me a lot of Elvis. On MSBNC they were discussing the Elvis and MJ trips to the White House the other morning. I thought it was funny when Andrea Mitchell on NBC news did her Reagan impression, "Well... Michael. It's ahhhh a Thrilla to meet you." Cracked me up. She said, "He actually uttered those words, I was standing right there."

Every time I see any of the Jackson videos, I just have to think of Wierd Al Yankovic. His parody videos were epic.

I would say that we will miss Michael, but in truth we have been missing him for decades. He's been gone for a long time. This is just finality. A talented man, but it just goes to show how bright the spotlight can be for a 10 year old.
