Obama Speech in Berlin About to Begin
Obama has drawn large crowds in the past. In Oregon there were over 50,000 to see an outdoor speech. His address at Mile High in Denver at their outdoor football stadium should be huge as well. But, today he will address people in Germany. I am watching some of the coverage pre-speech and it seems like there are tons and tons of people there. As far as the camera can see. Amazing.
Hoping it is a good speech. There is much that Europe and America have in common goalwise. The euro is kicking the dollar's butt right now. I would think this is a strong sense of pride there. Stephen Colbert believes we might just have to join the European Union:
I doubt that'll happen. The world economy though is so tightly integrated that we are all connected. Oil prices are a great example. Look at Europe though, they are so far ahead of us in terms of transportation. Their train system is amazing. You can get from one country to another in no time. In America though we have married oil and it is going to be a tough divorce. Exxon Mobile is not going to just want 1/2. :)
We'll see what Obama says. I am sitting here working on my presentation and waiting for the speech. Anxious to see how it goes. This is the last big event of the trip and it has been very successful so far.
